Allan Gelbin Design

The Gelbin Studio, 1965

Weston, CT, 06883

This exemplary example of Usonian principles is set on two serene acres in Weston, CT. Allan Gelbin (1929 - 1993) was an apprentice to Frank Lloyd Wright at Taliesin East who had supervising architect roles onsite for three of Wright's important residential commissions, including the Rayward House in New Canaan. Gelbin went on to build his own architectural practice in the New England states as well as design furnishings and practice fine arts. The house at 24 Skylark Lane in Weston is one of three Gelbin designed as his own studio/home. The current owners have completely refurbished the house and its built ins with meticulous attention to detail and authenticity. (Do look at the website photos if you doubt this.) Sale includes original furnishings, all Gelbin design and construction documents and several Gelbin artworks.
