Remarkable Art déco testimony, this flat is located in Jan and Joel Martel’s private mansion designed by architect Robert Mallet Stevens in 1927. The architect collaborated with Jean Prouvé and the atelier Barillet to build this work of art. This flat extends over a surface of 72 m² and includes a living room with built-in furniture designed by Mallet-Stevens, a kitchen, a bedroom with a dressing room and a bathroom. It enjoys a balcony and a lovely terrace. The typical Mallet-Stevens vocabulary is very readable on this building : cubic volumes, niches and a smooth white surface. The entrance and shared spaces were designed with care by Jean Prouvé, and the staircase is decorated by beautiful stained-glass realised by the master glass-maker Louis Barillet. An extraordinary and rare architecture signed by one of the greatest creators of the 30’s and located in Paris 16th district in a calm and privileged area.
