Robert Mallet-Stevens, Architect
Designed by the architect Robert Mallet-Stevens, Jan and Joel Martel’s studio is an absolute masterpiece, the dream of every architecture lover. Impressive high ceiling (up to 20 Ft) required for the work of sculptors and several levels that gave them varied perspectives, intact, offer an extraordinary living room of 1840 square feet with spectacular volumes and large windows. This creative place was transformed thanks to a contemporary arrangement, deliberately discreet: the main workshop turned into a large and bright living room, a bedroom was fitted on the mezzanine with skylight window, a Boffi kitchen in the former winter garden with fountain, a bathroom and a dressing room in the lower studio used for molding with clay. An extraodinary and rare architecture signed by one of the greatest creators of the 30’s and located in Paris 16th district in a calm and privileged area.
